Walter Reed Hospital Closing

Throughout my lifetime, each time my parents would talk about military medical care, there was often one hospital in particular mentioned. Walter Reed.

With the motto: "We Provide Warrior Care", the Walter Reed Army Medical Center has been the flagship of the U.S. Army's hospitals since 1909. This year it will close and send its civilian staff off to other hospitals.

A sad ending to a hospital that has had a long and colorful history with care given to the range of ranks from privates up to presidents. I hope that there are plans to create some kind of memorial or museum to the century of history Walter Reed witnessed.
